AudibleHQ Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the AudibleDNA product portal. The portal is operated by SGR Corporation Pty Ltd (ABN 39 118 869 962), trading as AudibleHQ (we, us, our).

This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and how we protect it. We collect only what is necessary to provide our services. Your use of our services is also subject to our Terms of Use.

How we collect information

  • Directly from you — when you create an account, register a device, or contact support
  • From your devices — automatically when your device connects to our services
  • From our services — when you interact with the portal or related services

What we collect

Account information

  • Email address (required for login)
  • Name
  • Phone number and company name (if provided)

Device information

When your device connects to our services, it sends:

  • Device identifiers (MAC address, serial number)
  • Firmware and hardware versions
  • Connected audio hardware (DAC model, serial number, capabilities)
  • Device nickname and timezone (if configured)
  • Network IP address
  • A unique identifier used to verify your device's identity

Operational data

To keep your device running and up to date, we collect:

  • System health metrics (CPU, memory, and disk usage)
  • Network throughput statistics
  • System logs (for diagnosing issues)
  • Firmware update progress and status

Playback metadata

When audio is playing, your device sends:

  • Current track information (artist, title, album)
  • Audio format and sample rate
  • Album artwork
  • Playback state (playing, paused, stopped)

We do not record your listening history. Only the current playback state is held while the device is connected.

Security and access logs

To protect your account, we log:

  • Login timestamps and IP addresses
  • Failed login attempts
  • Browser type (for login events only)

Support

If you contact support, we store the content of your messages to resolve your issue.

Why we collect it

All data is collected solely to provide and maintain the service:

  • Account data — to authenticate you and manage your devices
  • Device and operational data — to deliver firmware updates, monitor device health, and diagnose issues
  • Playback metadata — to display current playback status in the portal
  • Security logs — to protect your account from unauthorised access
  • Support data — to respond to your requests

We do not use your data for marketing, advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to providing the service.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it:

  • With service providers who help us operate (bound by confidentiality)
  • With law enforcement or regulators when required by law
  • With a purchaser if the business is sold or transferred

Overseas disclosure

Your information is stored and processed in Australia. If we need to share information with a service provider outside Australia, we will take reasonable steps to ensure they handle it consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Cookies

Our website uses essential cookies to keep you logged in and protect against cross-site request forgery. We do not use tracking or analytics cookies.

Data retention

  • Account data — retained while your account is active
  • Device telemetry and logs — retained on a rolling basis while the device is registered (oldest entries are automatically removed); unlinked from your identity when your account is deleted
  • Playback metadata — held only while the device is connected; not stored long-term
  • Security logs — retained for a limited period for account protection; deleted with your account
  • Login tokens — automatically deleted after 15 minutes

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access — ask us what information we hold about you
  • Correction — ask us to fix inaccurate or out-of-date information
  • Deletion — ask us to delete your personal information

When you delete your account, we delete your personal data (account details, login history, and support correspondence). Your devices are unlinked from your account — any remaining device operational data is no longer associated with any person.

Email legal@audiblehq.com to make a request. We will respond within 30 days.

Complaints

If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, email legal@audiblehq.com with details. We will investigate and respond in writing within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (www.oaic.gov.au).

Security

We use reasonable physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections (TLS) and cryptographic device authentication. No internet transmission is guaranteed secure.
